Show Garden and Building Methods

At the Wangeliner Garden in Ganzlin, visitors can stroll through the show garden. Cycle Route and Country Lanes

Cycle Route 9 is approximately 36 km long and forms a circular route from Ganzlin via Retzow, Quaßlin, Wahlstorf, Darß, Karbow, Vietlübbe, Wangelin and Gnevsdorf, returning to Ganzlin. It runs almost parallel to the Marienfließ nature reserve. You can take the route’s length into account when planning your day; the list of places also shows which stops are on the circular route. If cycling is to be the focus of your trip, the route offers a specific way to get to know the area around Ganzlin over a longer distance.

The cycle route repeatedly offers lovely views of the Gehlsbachtal nature reserve. The area is considered a feeding ground for grey herons and black storks. The ride therefore draws your attention not only to the places along the circular route, but also to a protected landscape associated with these bird species. These views are part of the route as described; they are a distinct natural feature alongside its course, which runs almost parallel to Marienfließ.

For a different kind of exploration, you can include the country lanes around Buchberg and through the Retzower Heide and Marienfließ, either on foot or by bicycle. These routes offer an alternative to the clearly defined Route 9 loop: instead of the approximately 36 km tour, the focus here is on exploring the named landscapes and country lanes. Whether you plan a cycling loop or choose to walk the paths depends on the kind of activity you want to include in your stay.
