Wolgast Zoo is a zoo in the vicinity of Zemitz. It is therefore a specifically named destination in the surrounding area for travellers interested in zoos. Geographical Location

Zemitz is located in the Lassaner Winkel, approximately seven kilometres south of Wolgast and approximately seven kilometres north of Lassan.

Nature

The area around Zemitz borders the Peenestrom to the east. The Brebowbach flows through the municipality towards the Peenestrom; Hohe See is the only notable lake named for the municipality. The Rauhe Berg lies southeast of Zemitz and, at 43 metres above sea level, is the highest elevation in the municipality.

History

Zemitz was first documented in 1504 under the name “Sumentz”.
