Jerxheim lies at the foot of the 200-metre-high Heeseberg. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Jerxheim can then continue searching for accommodation.
Large parts of the Heeseberg area are designated as nature reserves and landscape conservation areas. On the Heeseberg stands an approximately 20-metre-high observation tower, built in 1912 by Karl Kleye, a municipal leader from Jerxheim.

Jerxheim was first mentioned in official records in 1195. The town developed around a ducal castle, whose lands were consolidated into an estate. Jerxheim-Bahnhof was established in the 19th century with the construction of the railway in the lowlands of the Großer Bruch.
