The 8.4-kilometre circular route runs around Hainbach and has 130 metres of elevation gain. The trail starts at the junction of Ober-Ohmener Straße and Ortsberingweg. The car park at the Hainbach festival grounds is at Nieder-Gemündener Straße 18, 500 metres from the starting point; an information board at the car park explains how to get there. The first hiking portal on the Kräuterhexenweg is at the starting point.

There are numerous benches and places to rest along the route. No direction of travel is recommended. The distance and elevation gain give you clear guidance for planning your day; the benches and rest areas offer opportunities to take a break. At the “Wonnerschie Plätzche” there is a recliner and a parking disc. From the “Gugg eans Laand” viewpoint on the route, you can look east towards the high Vogelsberg and the Hoherodskopf.

Trail rules and watermills

The HeinzemannTour also has different rules for different users: cyclists, mountain bikers and horse riders may use sections of the route on farm roads; the paths are reserved for pedestrians. If you are planning an activity, take this distinction into account when choosing your route.

If you are considering hikes, you can compare two circular routes of different lengths: the GipfelTour Schotten covers 14 kilometres, crossing four peaks in the Oberwald and passing through species-rich mountain meadows and varied woodland with rugged basalt formations. The Weitblicktour Ulrichstein is a moderately difficult, 11.6-kilometre circular route around Ulrichstein through deciduous forests and small-scale patchwork landscapes. The distances set the two options apart; the Weitblicktour Ulrichstein is rated moderately difficult.

In Ulrichstein, the Vogelsberggarten offers a different way to experience the landscape and its cultural history: since 2001, centuries-old cultural heritage has been cared for and cultivated on the Schlossberg around the castle ruins, using traditional farming methods. Visitors can discover 243 wild plant species there. The Ulrichstein natural swimming biotope is another regional attraction; its bathing water is naturally purified by aquatic plants and circulation systems.
