The Prignitz offers cyclists 17 recommended routes, designed around regional sights and the area’s distinctive features. The church in Blüthen is a cycling church and lies directly on the 410-kilometre Elbe-Müritz Circular Route, which connects rivers and lakes. The 17 suggested routes bring together regional highlights, while the circular route offers a specific itinerary linking rivers and lakes.

The Prignitz’s cultural attractions appeal to a range of interests, too. In Blüthen, the Pfarrhausmuseum (Rectory Museum) uses the parish archive—with records dating back to the 17th century—and the estate of Karl and Gerlinde Groß to present the former way of life in an Evangelical rectory. The Prignitzer Dorfmuseum (Prignitz Village Museum) in Blüthen displays an old classroom and products of traditional crafts. The Museumsfabrik Pritzwalk offers a different focus: its permanent exhibition explores the history of industrialisation in rural areas, and visitors can take part in activities in the museum’s print shop and hand-weaving workshop. The choice therefore ranges from archives and rectory history to schools and crafts, as well as history visitors can engage with themselves.

In Bad Wilsnack, the late Gothic hall church of St. Nikolai stands in the medieval pilgrimage town; it is widely known as the Church of the Holy Blood. The church houses a wooden shrine of the Holy Blood from the 15th century, with painted wing doors, as well as medieval stained glass, considered Brandenburg’s most important collection of its kind. The Plattenburg is a different type of building: it is northern Germany’s only surviving moated castle and gave the municipality of Plattenburg its name. The route connections also differ: the Berlin-Wilsnack Pilgrimage Route passes through Plattenburg, while the Bischofstour stops at the Plattenburg.
