Geographical Location
Meinheim is located in the Altmühltal within the West Middle Franconia region, at the foot of the Hahnenkamm, a ridge of the Franconian Jura.

The municipal area consists predominantly of open countryside with meadows and fields; there are forests along the more mountainous edges.
The Altmühl forms the eastern boundary of Meinheim. The Meinheim Mill Stream flows through the town and is fed by the Wolfsbronn Mill Stream at its western end.
