St. Stephen’s Church in Aising is a late Gothic hall church at 79 Aisinger Straße, listed as a protected historic monument. The plastered brick building was constructed in the late 15th century; the enclosed cemetery is also part of the listed monument.

Culture and History

The area around St. Stephen contains documented medieval and early modern archaeological remains associated with the church and its predecessor buildings. St. Stephen’s is the older of the two present-day filial churches in the Pang parish area. It is documented as a filial church as early as 1315, its interior was redesigned in neo-Gothic style in 1861, and it acquired its present appearance in 1968/69.

Oberkaltbrunn, with its rectory and the St. Jerome house chapel, is located in the immediate vicinity of Aising. Herrenchiemsee Palace is located in the wider regional area around Aising. Schwarzlack and the St. Korbinian filial church in Dettendorf are located in the surrounding area of Aising.
