Historic Manor Houses, a Church and Museums

Three manor houses were built in Feucht: Zeidlerschloss, Pfinzingsschloss and Tucherschloss. Tucherschloss took its present form in 1590/91, based on one of the three former manor houses of Nuremberg patricians in Feucht. Over the course of the 18th century, the garden of Tucherschloss was transformed into a Baroque garden. Together, the architectural history and garden layout tell of the town’s different historical influences.

The church, the Old Forge and the Sexton’s House, formerly Feucht’s schoolhouse, form another ensemble. It is complemented by the Baroque rectory dating from 1732, in the adjoining rectory garden. Anyone interested in local history will find several distinct buildings and their connections in one place.

Since 1984, the Zeidel Museum has been housed in Hutzlerhaus, which belongs to the Feucht market municipality. In two rooms on the ground floor, a private sponsoring association presents changing exhibitions by artists from the region. The Hermann Oberth Spaceflight Museum, founded in 1971, has a different focus: it is dedicated to the life’s work of Professor Hermann Oberth (1894–1989). Birdsong and Routes in Feucht

The birdwatching trail has nine stops with information about native bird species, their way of life, diet and breeding seasons. Birdsong can be heard at every stop, so the subject is explored not only through the information boards but also by listening. The route begins at Crottendorfer Weg / Altdorfer Straße and ends at Sparkassenplatz. Anyone interested in native birds can plan the trail as a dedicated activity.

For running and walking, the Feucht circuit has twelve routes covering a total of 69.5 kilometres. Four starting points in Feucht allow you to shorten a route or extend it by combining it with another route. This gives you a choice of different distances without making any single circuit the only fixed option. Cycling is also on offer: Feucht lies on Stage 4 of the Sinnesradweg, which runs from Feucht to Schnaittach.

For a different kind of activity, the sports pool at Feuchtasia has more than 1,000 m² of water surface and is suitable for swimming laps. Feucht’s activities therefore cater to different interests: the birdwatching trail focuses on native species, the running and walking circuit offers several route options, and the sports pool is all about swimming.

The Nürnberger Land as a Regional Setting

The Nürnberger Land has more than 3,000 kilometres of well-marked hiking trails and well-developed cycling routes of varying difficulty. One route with precise figures is “Hohenstein (634 m) – SevenSummits” in Kirchensittenbach: it is 10.1 km long, with 406 metres of ascent and 397 metres of descent. The Pegnitz River and the lakes in the Nürnberger Land also invite visitors to enjoy water sports. These regional opportunities offer another perspective on the Nürnberger Land and complement the specific cultural and active experiences in Feucht.
