History

Luhe-Wildenau is a market municipality in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in the Upper Palatinate.

The present-day municipality of Luhe-Wildenau was formed in 1978 through the merger of Luhe, Neudorf bei Luhe and Oberwildenau; Unterwildenau had already been incorporated into Oberwildenau beforehand.

The area around Luhe has been documented as a royal estate since the beginning of the 10th century.
