Moraine landscape and architectural history
Moosach lies at 529 m above sea level amid the young moraines of the Inn Alpine Foreland Glacier, formed during the Ice Age, in the “Steinsee, Doblbach, Brucker Moos and Surroundings” landscape conservation area. Its elevation, geological character and location within a protected area give the landscape a distinct setting. This offers a way to experience the area in its own right, alongside its cultural attractions and the historic architectural landmark of the parish church.
The church’s Gothic saddleback tower dates from the earlier church. This is a precise detail of local history: the tower points to an older church building, but does not mean that the entire present-day church dates from that period. Cyclists can also follow a specific route: one section of the Isar-Inn cycle route runs from Schattenhofen to Grafing and onwards to Wasserburg, or via Wolfersberg to Munich.
