Exploring the Regen

The Regental Cycle Route runs from Miltach via Chamerau to Cham and back along the same route. It follows the Regen for most of the way, is paved almost throughout and is signposted. Art at Altrandsberg Castle

Altrandsberg Castle, an imposing four-wing complex dating from the 16th or 17th century, is located in the municipality of Miltach. The municipality of Miltach has fully renovated the castle; today, it houses a castle church, a kindergarten and the WeltKunstMuseum. Its 17 themed display cases feature detailed replicas of works of art, some world-famous, whose originals are held in museums around the world. The tour spans the period from the Stone Age to the Baroque. Check the museum’s current opening schedule before your visit.

The Martiniritt and natural landscapes near Cham

The Martiniritt takes place every year in November in Miltach. More than 200 riders often take part, riding festively decorated horses; the event has been held more than 300 times. If you’re planning your trip around the event, check the arrangements for that year locally.

The Regentalaue near Cham is also part of the region’s natural landscape: it is one of Bavaria’s natural areas of international importance and among the most valuable natural areas in Bavaria.
