St. Leonhard’s Chapel is located at the northeastern exit of the village of Hiltenfingen. Well-preserved frescoes depicting the Fourteen Holy Helpers adorn the south wall of the choir. A crucifixion group created around 1470 is considered the chapel’s most valuable work of art. Two different forms of religious art are found side by side here: wall paintings with a clearly identified subject and a dated crucifixion group.
According to historical records, the parish church in Hiltenfingen was built around 1490. A free-standing, 64-metre-high pointed tower stands beside it. The church’s approximate construction date and the tower’s height are among the notable details of Hiltenfingen’s architectural history.

The Viereckschanze in Härtle
Near Hiltenfingen, in Härtle, the Viereckschanze is located along the footpath from Hiltenfingen to Gennach. It measures about 70 metres and is surrounded by an earthwork and a ditch about 52 metres long. The two measurements refer to different parts of the site: one is the size of the earthwork, the other the length of the ditch. This gives a more concrete idea of its layout, with its earthwork and ditch.
