Geographical Location

Aldingen is a municipality in the district of Tuttlingen in Baden-Württemberg and lies at an elevation of around 650 metres above sea level.

Aldingen includes the Trosselbach, Hagenbach and Primtal landscape conservation areas, as well as protected summer sheep pasture areas with trees and hedges at Brühl, Menishalde and Auwasen.

History

Archaeological traces at the Protestant Church of St. Mauritius in Aldingen date the origins of the settlement back to the 4th century AD; postholes dating from around 700 AD have also been discovered.

The wooden predecessor of the Church of St. Mauritius was replaced by a stone church in the late 11th century.
