Seebach: Mountain Hike, Mill and Nature

Between Adlersee and Hohfelsen

“Adventure at Adlersee” includes a climbing garden made of boulders, a climbing structure made of black locust wood and a slide. The three features offer different activities: climbing and sliding sit side by side, without limiting the area to just one type of movement.

The Seebach mountain hike starts at the Mummelseehalle in Seebach. It leads through the spa gardens, across orchards and through mixed forest, as well as the old Silbergründle mining area, to Hohfelsen and its summit cross. The two experiences are therefore clearly distinct: at Adlersee, the activities focus on individual climbing and sliding areas, while the hike brings together several landscapes and the former mining area along a single route.

Visitors can rent pedal boats at Mummelsee. This adds an activity on the water to the activities mentioned above. Vollmer’s Mill is another cultural attraction in Seebach: it is a grinding mill more than 250 years old and a tourist attraction for the municipality. Together, these local highlights show different sides of a stay—from activities and landscapes to the history of milling.

More experiences in the Ortenau district

In the wider destination of the Ortenau district, the natural landscape stretches from the Rhine Plain to the higher elevations of the Black Forest. MiMa focuses on minerals from the Black Forest: it displays unique specimens collected by the Friends of Minerals and Mining Oberwolfach Association (Verein der Freunde von Mineralien und Bergbau Oberwolfach e. V.). Both destinations offer a cultural perspective—one through historic ways of life and work, the other through minerals and their collection.
