Art and History in the Town

Neuried’s public sculpture trail brings together existing sculptures and new works. Almost all of them are by Walter Henninger; the trail is best explored by bicycle. Here, art and movement go hand in hand, and the trail is not limited to any one sculpture.

In Schutterzell, St. Michael’s Church tells the story of a long-standing shared tradition: since 1804, it has been used as a simultaneous church by both the Protestant and Catholic denominations. The term refers to the church being shared by both denominations. The church thus adds a specific aspect of local religious history to the experiences outdoors.

Fair and Summer Program

A traditional fair has been held in Ichenheim each spring and autumn for almost 250 years. It is set up on Rheinstraße between the Gasthaus Schwanen and Kreuzstraße. The idea is straightforward: get the ball through the course and into the target with as few shots as possible.

Neuried in the Wider Ortenau District

The Ortenau district lies between the Rhine and the Black Forest. This wider travel destination has 23 nature reserves covering a total area of around 3,110 hectares. They extend from the Rhine Plain to the higher elevations of the Black Forest. This regional overview places Neuried’s experiences within the district’s broader landscape.
