The Hilzingermühle in Oberglottertal was built in 1621 and is described as one of the oldest mills still in operation in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald region. Hiking

A documented 10.5 km circular trail in Oberglottertal follows the traces of medieval mining and the Urgraben water canal. The route takes around 3.5 hours and includes 350 m of ascent and descent. Along the Urgraben route, the trail reveals remains of a medieval water canal and traces of mining. The canal conveyed water from the eastern slope of the Kandel to mining facilities in Glottertal and Suggental.

Another 9.1 km circular trail to the Hilzingermühle leads along narrow paths beside the Glotter, through shady woodland and sunnier sections. This route is listed as having 362 m of ascent and descent.
