Culture and Trails

The sights of Ehrenstetten include St. George's Church, the birthplace of the artist and architect Christian Wentzinger, and three chapels located outside the village: Streicherkapelle, Ölbergkapelle and Schächerkapelle.

The mining trail in the Ehrenstetter Grund area reveals medieval remains of silver mining: a large wheel chamber, an embankment, open mine shafts and collapsed sections of tunnel. The route initially follows approximately 3.2 km of forest track into the area, followed by a circular section of around 2 km.

The Bettlerpfad and the Markgräfler Wiiwegli, both well-known long-distance hiking trails, run through Ehrenkirchen. There are also ten local hiking trails.

Landscape

The Ölberg circular trail offers views over the Staufen Basin and the Rhine Plain towards the Vosges in Alsace. The Ölberg combines historic vineyard terraces with a protected natural habitat and is located in the nearby area of Ehrenstetten.
