The church of Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle has eight bells, two of which were cast on site in 2013.

Culture
The church also has a Clergeau organ, which was installed in 1866 and restored and motorised by Merklin in 1944. Until around the mid-19th century, lace was made at home in Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle from flax and hemp grown locally. It was then resold by merchants from Faucigny.
The Eglise de Chaucisse was built in 1818 as a chapel dedicated to Saint Francis de Sales and was elevated to parish church status in 1828. Its recently restored roof is made of wooden shingles, and the walls are painted. The interior contains furnishings and fittings with artistic Baroque features. The church is closed, except in summer during the daily mass.
Nature
The municipality of Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle includes part of the 3,747-hectare Aravis nature reserve. The nature reserve is considered a refuge for chamois, ibex, marmots, mouflons, roe deer, foxes, badgers, wild boar, black grouse, bearded vultures and golden eagles.
The Nanpareux/Merdassier reserve extends across Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle and Ugine and is designated as an integral nature reserve.
Trails and activities
The Boucle des Avenières circular route starts at the Sous La Bèque car park next to a hiking information board. The Avenières orientation table offers panoramic views of Mont Blanc, the Beaufortain and the Aravis Massif.
The La Boucle des Carrés snowshoe loop starts in Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle, is 4.3 kilometres long, is rated difficult and takes 1 hour 45 minutes. The Tré le Sez snowshoe trail runs above Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle through woodland and alpine pastures.
The “Tour du Val d’Arly” e-bike route, signposted as an FFC route, leads from the centre of Flumet towards Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle and onwards to the higher hamlet of Chaucisse and the Route de Montagnes.
Local produce
Alpage Les Mouilles can be reached by off-road vehicle or on foot via the Route des Montagnes. Goat Tommes, Séracs, Faisselles, Petits frais and pure goat’s cheese are made and sold there.
