Culture and History
Queige is home to the Church of Sainte Agathe, with its richly decorated Baroque interior. Its bell tower was once the keep of the Lords of Queige and can be opened to visitors. Every year at the beginning of February, Queige celebrates the patronal feast of Saint Agatha. During the celebration, bread is blessed and kept in homes throughout the year to protect against fire. In summer, the church is open daily.

Routes and Discoveries
The Transbeaufortaine is a pleasant and relatively easy route for mountain biking and horse trekking. The Sentier des Pointières, located in the hamlet 8 km from the main village, offers insights into the region’s former pastoral life and the development of its landscape over the past 50 years. The Sentier des Pointières is also an open-air museum and offers a free visit lasting approximately half a day.
The “Qu'ai-je à raconter?” discovery trail in Queige features 13 thematic panels on hydroelectric power, the use of streams, the development of the village of Queige, and the Beaufortain.
The Folliachut trails begin at Queige’s leisure pond. The accessible circular trail around Queige’s leisure pond highlights the Queige forest, with around 2,500 hectares of woodland, its biodiversity, and the hydroelectric power of the Beaufortain.
Landscape
At 2,460 m, Mont Mirantin is the highest point in the municipality and offers a sweeping panorama of the Beaufortain, Belledonne, and Chartreuse ranges. Croix de Coste lies at an altitude of 1,814 m at the entrance to the Les Saisies ski area. An orientation table is located on Roche Pourrie at an altitude of 2,037 m. The “Villaret” route begins in the village of Queige.
Forest and Nature
The Queige Sylvatorium is the second of its kind in France and offers a 1.6 km forest experience trail with forest spas and corresponding signage. It is located in the Molliessoulaz forest at an altitude of 1,100 m and is accessible year-round.
