Culture

The Église Saint-Martin is a Baroque church whose construction was begun by Jacques Chiesaz in 1696 and completed in 1699. Its bell tower is Romanesque, with the exception of the top storey, which dates from the 18th century. Inside, a depiction of Saint Martin in episcopal attire can be seen in the centre, and a depiction of François de Sales on the right.

The Château de Chamoux has been partially listed as a Monument historique since 19 July 1977. It is privately owned, but its façades can be viewed while walking through the village.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Allamand family used flour to make pasta.

Nature

Near the upper parts of the village, the Nant de Montendry forms a gorge between two mountains.

The Circuit patrimonial du Val Gelon is a 26 km cultural and historical route on low-traffic roads between Valgelon-La Rochette and Chamoux-sur-Gelon.

Atterrissage Chamoux-sur-Gelon is a take-off and landing site for air sports. The site is located along the D25 west of Chamoux.
