The Via ferrata du Diable connects seven independent sections into a circular route measuring 3,760 metres in total. The Chapelle Saint-Benoît features painted decoration created by Abbé Damé between 1680 and 1722. The Chapelle de pèlerinage Saint-Benoît and the adjoining residential building were classified as a historic monument by decree of 17 January 1991. The Baroque Église Saint-Thomas Becket in Avrieux was designed and decorated over several decades by artists from Piedmont and local artists.
Geographical Location
The Forts of Esseillon are accessible by car year-round via the RD1006; there is a car park in front of the Redoute Marie-Thérèse. They can also be reached via Avrieux and the Cascade Saint-Benoît along the former road between Avrieux and Aussois.
