The area of Cours-la-Ville largely forms an expansive amphitheatre corresponding to the Trambouze catchment area. Via another tributary, the Trambouze is a tributary of the Loire. The Sentier Botanique de Romarin begins in the town centre and leads to the Calvaire on Mont Florentin. The trail is intended for observing and discovering the region’s plants and local flora, and was designed as a complement to discovering the medieval feudal motte. The Calvaire was built in 1865; from there, it offers an exceptional panoramic view.

The upper part of the amphitheatre of Cours is 43 % forested, corresponding to a total of 835 hectares.
Culture
The Church of Saint-Étienne in Cours-la-Ville has a baptismal font and a pulpit made by the Chambot brothers in 1841 and classified on 18 October 1983. Cours also has the “De Fil en aiguille” trail, an audio and augmented-reality trail.
Getting Around
In the northern Beaujolais Vert, the Way of Saint James follows 12.8 km of the GR765 from the Col des Echarmeaux to the Col de la Bûche in the direction of Cours-la-Ville, on the border with the Loire département.

The municipal Point Info Tourisme in Cours provides a calendar of local events as well as information on hikes. In Cours-la-Ville, there is a free motorhome parking area on the banks of the Trambouze near the Stade de La Rivière; it has been in operation since June 2002.
