Culture and history
The Chapelle Notre-Dame de la Chirat was built in 1508 and is located among volcanic rocks known as chirats. The Chapelle de la Chirat houses the statue “Notre-Dame de la Consolation”, a historic-monument-listed alabaster Virgin and Child. The association connected with the Chapelle de la Chirat honours this site every year on 8 September.

It is also a red circuit for muscle-powered and electric mountain bikes, on which you can discover the village of Saint-Marcel-d'Urfé.
