Culture and History
The Church of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist has a bell dating from 1749, which was classified as a historic monument in 1963. The oldest parts of the church date from the second half of the 15th century; the side chapels and the transept crossing were added in the 16th century, and the portal bell tower was built at the beginning of the 17th century. Restoration work on the church was completed on January 28, 2022, with the acceptance of the work.
The Chapelle des Anges was built in 1641 following a vow made during the plague of 1631. It served as a hiding place and meeting point for local Maquisards and resistance fighters. The chapel contains a statue of Notre-Dame des Anges, carved from a single piece of wood, depicting the seated Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus on her knees.
