Trails
The “Au milieu du bocage” route is a 6.1 km circular trail. It starts and ends in Saint-Guillaume.
The “Sentier des arbres” is a marked 0.40 km circular trail with 10 metres of elevation gain and a duration of one hour. It provides access to around 40 plant species consisting of trees, shrubs and woody plants; an accompanying booklet created by René explains them.
Nature
The “Au milieu du bocage” route allows visitors to discover the mare de Bouvetaire wetland, a natural area designated as an Espace Naturel Sensible with great floral and faunal diversity.
The temporary pond in the Espace Naturel Sensible of the mare de Bouvetaire is home to the carnivorous plant Utricularia. The Espace Naturel Sensible of the mare de Bouvetaire is also home to the great crested newt.
Farm Life and Products
The chèvrerie de Saint Guillaume offers farm tours and activities from April to September by prior reservation. Goat’s milk is processed there into natural and flavoured lactic cheeses, Tommes and Faisselles. The chèvrerie de Saint Guillaume is located in the heart of the Parc naturel régional du Vercors within the municipality of Saint-Guillaume.
La Ferme de Bartabelle offers an outdoor tour with visits to the nursery containing calves and piglets, the free-range pigs and the cows. Visitors can taste farm products there made from the milk of Jersey cows.
In addition, La Ferme de Bartabelle offers themed farm days featuring cow milking and the optional processing of the milk into fermented dairy products, cheese, frozen desserts, pastries or biscuits.
