Quirieu is located on a four-hectare limestone hilltop with a small, elongated plateau that naturally slopes steeply. On its eastern flank, the site overlooks the Rhône and its alluvial terraces from a height of almost 100 metres.

The Quirieu site features thematic panels and orientation tables and can be explored independently along the paths.

Culture

The church of Bouvesse-Quirieu was extended in 1841. It has a marble high altar created by Adami of Lyon in 1861.

The communal oven in Marlieu is still regularly used by local associations. All the washhouses in Bouvesse-Quirieu follow a uniform design with a protective roof; there is no wall opposite the work area.

Various events take place at the Quirieu site, including guided tours, storytelling evenings and concerts.

Local crafts

Au Four et au Moulin d'Arche is located in a former 16th-century mill that is now operated as an artisan bakery.

The bakery mainly uses French organic flours and works with slow kneading and slow fermentation. The bakery's products are sold on site at the oven exit.

Bouvesse-Quirieu can be reached via the ViaRhôna, a cycle route suitable for family outings.
