Manigod combines Baroque church history with an Alpine landscape.

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Manigod should consider Manigod as a travel destination.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint Pierre de Manigod was rebuilt in the Baroque style at the end of the 17th century; written records of it date back to 1414. Its organ was installed in 1996 and has 22 stops, 1,372 pipes, two manuals and a full pedalboard.

The Route des chapelles de Manigod is a cultural route leading to six rural chapels from the Baroque period. At each chapel, information boards outdoors provide details about its history. A memorial plaque at Chalet Collomb also marks the La Cola Resistance camp in the hills above Manigod.

Nature and Landscape

The Plateau de Beauregard Natura 2000 site covers parts of the municipalities of La Clusaz, Manigod and Thônes. The Col de la Croix Fry is situated at an altitude of 1,477 m and offers views of the Aravis range and, in clear weather, Mont Blanc.

The Cascade Nant Burgeat is a waterfall with four cascades, accessible via a forest path. There is also the Parcours ludique nature en forêt: a free, self-guided nature trail in the forest with games and nature workshops. It is signposted in summer and accessible to families with young children.

Winter and Trails

The Manigod ski area is part of the LA CLUSAZ-MANIGOD ski area, with 125 km of pistes. The Télésiège de Cabeau chairlift at the Col de la Croix Fry takes visitors to the summit of Tête de Cabeau.

For cyclists, trains from the Annecy SNCF station allow bicycles to be carried, while buses from Annecy and Thônes to Manigod are equipped with bike racks.

Regional Specialities

The Paccard cheese dairy in Manigod offers guided tours in French, presenting the craft of the affineur. La Ferme de l'Étale sells Reblochon made on the farm, as well as butter, honey, cow's and goat's cheese, and fresh milk, in its farm shop. In Manigod, four or five types of cheese are tasted with Savoy wine.
