Nature and landscape
The Réserve biologique dirigée d'Archiane biological reserve extends from 690 m in the valley of the Archiane stream to 1,820 m at the Tête du Jardin on the edge of the Vercors high plateaus. It encompasses woodland, rocky and open-land habitats, along with their associated animal and plant species, such as vultures, ibex and service trees. The Drôme département has designated the Réserve biologique dirigée d'Archiane as an Espace naturel sensible (ENS), a sensitive natural area.
The Cirque d'Archiane lies at the foot of the Vercors limestone high plateaus, between the Glandasse rocky spur to the west and the Plateau du Jardin du Roy to the northeast. Its jagged rocks in shades of grey, pink and ochre surround the hamlet of Archiane. The Cirque d'Archiane is an area of natural and scenic beauty, as well as a preferred nesting site for griffon vultures.
Hiking and nature observation
The Sentier des Vautours d’Archiane is a moderately difficult 5.9 km circular hike lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. The route provides an understanding of the four vulture species found in the Vercors.
The Col de Côte Chèvre–Rocher de Combau route is a difficult 10.5 km circular hike lasting approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. From the Col de Côte Chèvre, there is a panoramic view of the southern part of the Hauts-Plateaux du Vercors nature reserve. The Vallon de Combeau is used as sheep pasture in summer.

Culture and activities
The still at Côte Chèvre bears witness to an earlier activity involving lavender distillation. The Archiane climbing site has more than 100 climbing routes graded from 5b to 7b; it is equipped as an adventure climbing area.
Local produce
Pisciculture des Sources de l'Archiane sells smoked trout, trout rillettes, terrines and fresh fillets at markets. By appointment, it also offers tours of the facility.
