Culture and History
Sainte-Jalle is home to two religious buildings protected as historic monuments: Notre-Dame-de-Beauvert and the Chapelle Saint-Anastase. Notre-Dame-de-Beauvert is a Romanesque church dating from the late 12th century; it has been protected under an order dated 17 July 1926. Until the beginning of the 15th century, it was the seat of a Cluniac priory in the Diocese of Sisteron. The Chapelle Saint-Anastase has been protected as a historic monument under an order dated 21 December 1984.
Sainte-Jalle's medieval heritage also includes the remains of the castle, the old town walls and several round towers.
Hiking and Landscape
The Tour du Deves circular trail takes up to around 1 hour and 45 minutes at a leisurely walking pace. It starts at the Platanenweg car park and climbs uphill through oak woodland. From a viewpoint, Sainte-Jalle and Mont Ventoux appear in the same panorama.
The Tour du bois d'Embrun takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes as a hike, or 2 hours at a leisurely walking pace. It reaches the ridge of the woodland area and then descends eastwards. The tour is a challenging route along little-known paths, with views of Arpavon, Rochebrune and Mont Ventoux.
