Geyssans combines Romanesque sacred architecture, sweeping viewpoints and diverse natural landscapes. A striking example is the Église Saint-Ange: the Romanesque church stands in the hamlet of Saint-Ange within the municipality of Geyssans. From its location, there is an exceptional 360-degree view of the foothills and mountains of the Vercors, the mountains of the Massif Central, the Gerbier de Joncs and Mont Mézenc, as well as the Rhône Valley with Mont Pilat and the Isère Valley.

Culture and Landscape
Geyssans has diverse natural landscapes with forests, a network of vegetation on the slopes and watercourses. The Saint-Martin bell tower is also located on the slope; from there, it offers a sweeping view over the Savasse Valley.
An educational landscape interpretation site at the Col de Tournu is located within the municipality of Geyssans. Another viewpoint is the Croix de Gruyère pass, 2 km outside Geyssans in the direction of Reculais, offering beautiful views of the Vercors Plateau and the Monts du Matin.
Nature
Geyssans is the starting point for hiking trails through the forests to Les Thivolets.
History
The present-day municipality of Geyssans consists of the former parishes and seigneuries of Geyssans and Saint-Ange; they were not united until the last third of the 18th century. The church in Geyssans, dedicated to Saint Martin of Tours, was built in 1895.
Transport and Regional Context
The RD 517 is a small, winding road that runs before, through and beyond Geyssans, provides access to the village and leads north towards Reculais. The most heavily used road, the RD 52, runs along the Savasse; 1,743 vehicles per day were counted there in 2017, and the road makes Geyssans accessible.
Geyssans lies within the geographical area of the Noix de Grenoble designation.
