Culture and History
The historic religious site of Saint-Pantaléon-les-Vignes originated as a cella founded by three Cluniac monks, mentioned in the Cluny Cartulary in 989. The present parish church of Saint-Pantaléon was rebuilt around 1480 and consecrated in 1509. It has two side chapels of different sizes and preserves a narrow Romanesque window from the late 12th century.
Notre-Dame de Santé is a small rural chapel from the 19th century, situated in the woods. Among the architectural features of Saint-Pantaléon-les-Vignes visible to visitors is the lavoir, the village’s historic washhouse; it was recently restored. A 19th-century fountain is also part of the village landscape.
Landscape and Wine
