Nature and trails

The Bois de Bressac – chemin des colporteurs route offers views of the Sichier River. The Le Vieux Saint-Lager circular trail leads to viewpoints overlooking Saint-Lager-Bressac and the Chomérac Valley. The Le Vieux Saint-Lager hike is considered easy and is suitable for families.

Saint-Lager-Bressac is surrounded by the volcanic Coiron Massif and the Barrès Forest, offering diverse landscapes to explore and enjoy. The Montpourchier and Peygrand mountains are located in the surrounding area. Further afield in the region are the Suc de Blandine and Mont Redon mountains.

Culture

The bell of the village church of Saint-Lager-Bressac was cast in 1880 at the Burdin Aîné foundries in Lyon. The village church also houses a gilded wooden statue of Saint Léger.

The Abbatiale Sainte-Marie de Cruas abbey church and the Tour de Diane-de-Poitiers are located near Saint-Lager-Bressac. Further afield in the region are the ancient theatre of Alba-la-Romaine (Ardèche, France) and the archaeological site of Alba-la-Romaine.

Local life

Semperfloris grows medicinal plants locally and produces herbal medicine products as well as organic cosmetics. From 1 May to 31 July, Semperfloris offers guided tours of the medicinal plant garden, as well as themed courses and workshops, by appointment or as part of the programme.
