Labastide-sur-Bésorgues combines deep forests, including the Bois de Cuze, green pastureland and volcanic landscapes dominated by the crater of the Pic de l’Étoile.
Nature and Trails
The challenging mountain hike “De la vallée au plateau” is a 13.8-kilometre circular route lasting approximately 5 hours and 45 minutes.
The “De la vallée au plateau” circular route starts and ends at the Eglise de l'immaculée-conception in Labastide-sur-Bésorgues. The “Entre Bésorgues et Volane” route follows the lava flow of the Sapède volcano, also known as the Pic de l'Étoile, and crosses the Bésorgues near the Cascade de la Pissarelle.
Village Centre and Activities
The Aire de loisirs de Labastide-sur-Besorgues has picnic tables and children's play equipment in the village centre.
The Base canyon de la Besorgues is located at the entrance to Labastide-sur-Bésorgues. It offers activities in rivers and in nature, supervised by professional guides and designed for different groups, including canyoning, caving, via ferrata and climbing.

Culture and History
The Chapelle de Freyssenet was restored from 1998 onwards after having fallen into disrepair.
The Moulin de Charrier was built on the banks of the Bésorgues in the 18th century and remained in operation until the middle of the 20th century. Today, it is a venue for cultural exchange, particularly during the European Mill and Heritage Days in May and September.
As part of the 2026 European Heritage Days, guided and commented tours of the Chapelle de Freyssenet are scheduled to take place over an entire weekend.
