Tramoyes: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Marais des Échets wetland extends across the areas of Tramoyes, Miribel and Mionnay. A 23-hectare section of the Marais des Échets is protected as a registered natural area.

Nature

The “Grand Étang Neuf” hiking trail leads through the Forêt du Noyer to the Étang du Gravier. The natural area along the “Grand Étang Neuf” hiking trail is partly classified as a ZNIEFF because of its bird species and the flora of its ponds. The now-dry Étang du Gravier has been preserved as a modest remnant.

The “Le Tour de Tramoyes” hiking trail runs through the heart of a Natura 2000 site and is highlighted for its biodiversity. The trail is open year-round.

Culture and history

The present-day Notre-Dame Church replaced the church that previously stood there at the end of the 19th century, following thirty years of efforts. The Notre-Dame de Tramoyes Church contains several furnishings listed as objects in the inventory of historic monuments, including the statue of the Virgin Mary on its forecourt. The parish church of Notre-Dame also features a set of 13 figurative stained-glass windows; one of the windows in a rose window of the transept depicts the council held in Tramoyes around 836.

At the “sous le Port” archaeological site, human settlement was documented from the early Mesolithic to the Gallo-Roman period. Finds include flint, backed blades, points, notched microliths and pottery fragments.

The wooded, low-lying Poype du Châtel has a circumference of around 100 m. The tower structure standing on it is now a ruin; as early as the mid-19th century, it was described as an octagonal keep.

Local character

In Tramoyes, both the Ferme des Frênes and the Chèvrerie du Colombier operate farm shops.
