Vidauban: Holiday apartments and houses

The Sommet du Deffenson is a challenging 45-minute climb. From the summit, there are views over the vineyards and the village of Vidauban. Those who choose Vidauban as a holiday destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.

Culture

On 8 October, the residents of Vidauban traditionally walk in procession to the Chapelle Sainte-Brigitte. From the Chapelle Sainte Brigitte, there is a panoramic view of the Massif des Maures and the Argens Valley.

Food and wine

The Domaine des Féraud offers visitors a guided tour of its wine cellar. This is followed by tastings of wines from its own organic winery and a vineyard trail.

At La Ferme Sainte Brigitte, families can pick their own apples, pears and plums during the season. Château Matheron offers a guided cellar tour with commentary, followed by a tasting. The Marché Provençal takes place every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Activities

Several hiking trails cross the 600-hectare Château d’Astros wine estate. The Tour du Deffenson is a signposted, easy 30-minute walk with no incline.

From its base in Vidauban, Provence Aventure offers a 1.5-hour canoe trip to Les Rondins covering 3 km there and back. Another two-hour canoe trip leads from the base to Les Plainons; the return is by shuttle through a Natura 2000 landscape. The Provence Aventure site in Vidauban also has an adventure climbing park for children aged 3 and over and a mega zip line.

The Parc de Loisirs Dracénie Provence offers water play facilities, a children's playground, picnic areas, table tennis tables and walking paths along the ponds. These facilities are free and permanently accessible.

Nature

The family circular walk through the Bois du Rouquan is located in the Réserve naturelle nationale de la plaine des Maures.
