Bargème is a stone-built Village de Caractère dominated by a Romanesque church and the ruins of a feudal castle. The municipality is one of the municipalities within the Verdon Regional Natural Park.

Culture and History
Bargème’s medieval enclosure was pierced by two fortified gates in the 14th century. The Église Saint-Nicolas is a Romanesque church from the 12th century at the summit of Bargème. It houses a listed Saint-Sébastien altarpiece carved in 1525.
The Église Saint-Laurent was listed as a historic monument by decree of 3 November 1987. The Chapelle Saint-Laurent lies 2 km northwest of Bargème and overlooks the village.
In Bargème, bread and salt are still blessed every 31 May; Sainte-Pétronille is celebrated in the chapel dedicated to her. The Chapelle Sainte Pétronille in Bargème is a religious heritage site dating from the 17th century.
The Chapelle Saint Antoine is also part of the town’s traditional appearance: it is a votive chapel and is considered one of the oldest chapels in the département. The Chapelle Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs was completed in 1608 as an expiatory chapel following murders.
The Château de Pontevès stands on a rocky promontory. There, it offers an immersive experience of military history and uninterrupted views of the surrounding mountains.
Landscape
From Bargème, there are views of the Plateau de Canjuers, the Massif des Maures and the foothills of the Alps. A small path leads to the ruins of the Bargème mill on the Artuby River.

The Tour de Bargème starts in the village and runs mainly along balcony-style paths offering beautiful views of Bargème. The Tour de l’Artuby also passes through Bargème on its final stage.
