La Verdiere: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The municipal audio walk presents the history of the Église Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, the Chapelle Saint-Roch and the Château de La Verdière. Today’s Église Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption was probably built in the 14th century. It is located at the top of the village within the former medieval fortifications and has been listed as a historic monument by decree since 30 May 1947.

Today, the carefully restored Château de La Verdière houses a rich collection of works of art. It was one of the most important fortresses in medieval Provence and is considered the largest château in Provence.

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Santé bears the year 1625. Today, it is a private chapel and the venue for a procession every year on 8 September.

The La Rabelle-Bois de Malassoque discovery trail can be followed without a guide using 15 information sheets. Along the trail, visitors can discover the site’s fauna and flora, as well as the management of its natural and agricultural areas.

The La Rabelle site is home to rare arable weeds and remarkable birdlife. It is also home to the protected, declining and regionally endemic Criquet hérisson, which is strictly associated with steppe habitats.
