Saint-Benoît: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Culture and History

The Saint-Benoît Abbey was founded in the 7th century, destroyed in the 9th century, and rebuilt in the 11th and 12th centuries. The Romanesque Church of Saint-André also characterizes the town: it overlooks the Miosson Valley and has an 11th-century façade as well as a tall Gothic spire.

The Arcs de Parigny are among the historical traces. They are the remains of a Gallo-Roman aqueduct in the grounds of the Ermitage estate, which is now used as a service residence. The remains of the Roman aqueduct at l’Hermitage were listed as a historic monument by decree on 28 June 1927. The Arcs de Parigny are a series of three arches from these aqueduct remains.

The Salle capitulaire is suitable for small exhibitions and workshops. Admission to Saint-Benoît Abbey is free and, thanks to a lift, is also possible for people with reduced mobility; conferences and temporary exhibitions take place on site.

The Jardin d’Images complements this landscape with an open-air art area covering more than 4,000 m², combining large-format photographs, flowers, and light effects.
