Culture and History

The Church of Saint Martin in Fressines is a Romanesque building whose foundation stone was laid in 1260. Several tomb slabs are visible in the church, including those of François de Vivonne, dating from 1470, and Julien Dillon, dating from 1715.

The Church of Saint Martin has three construction phases: the original late Romanesque nave, probably with a pointed barrel vault; the extension to create a larger choir; and the addition of the Chapel of the Virgin Mary in the 18th century.
