The Sentier de Brigueuil begins at Place de la Liberté. This 4.54-kilometre interpretive circular trail passes through the medieval town of Brigueuil and its exceptionally rich cultural heritage.

Culture and History
The Church of Saint-Martial is located within Brigueuil’s fortified enclosure and served to defend the town. It contains the tomb of Marguerite de Chabot; since 27 January 1925, the church has been listed in France’s Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments.
The square keep of Brigueuil dates from the 11th century, is 44 metres high and has two levels; it formerly had seven levels. Its entrance gate to the courtyard is decorated with depictions of flowers, fruit and birds.
Brigueuil cemetery contains the Lanterne des morts, a 12th-century monument made of local granite, which has been listed as a historic monument since 1932. It can be viewed year-round during the cemetery’s opening hours.
The 12th-century eastern town gate is called “Pont Levis”, while the 12th-century western town gate is called “du péage”. The pyramid-shaped Fontaine Pyramidale was built in 1830 using stones from Lesterps Abbey.
In the hamlet of La Boulonnie stands a 3-metre-high, hexagonal mausoleum. It recalls the mausoleum erected in the rock church of Aubeterre, has been listed in the register of historic monuments since 1932 and is currently located on private property.
Since 2003, Céramiques Jacques Marchand has been reviving the traditional craft of making Ponnes de Benest, Bujadiers de Thiat and, since 2024, Bujours de Saint-Césaire, all produced entirely by hand. On site, Céramiques Jacques Marchand offers an exhibition and sales of works made mainly from local raw materials.
