Sainte-Ramée: Holiday apartments and houses

The local history of Sainte-Ramée includes the Moulin de Chez Guillet. It was built in 1803 and ceased operating in 1919. Since 13 November 1989, it has been listed as a historic monument; protected elements include the mill with its mechanism, as well as the façades and roofs of the adjoining residential building, including the rooms of the former bakery. A bakery and an oven were installed in the house adjoining it; the mechanism is still present inside the mill. The 11.14 km-long walking route “Autour de Saint-Ciers-du-Taillon” leads as far as Sainte-Ramée. On the section of this route towards Sainte-Ramée, you pass by it.

Culture

The Église Saint-Rémi is located in Sainte-Ramée and is a 12th-century church. Its rectangular floor plan comprises a single nave and a polygonal apse. Its features include a stone holy-water font dating from 1826, as well as the capitals of the connecting arch, which are decorated with chimeras, a devil, a lion and a naked woman. The western façade has a group of five modillions, while the church houses a copper processional cross on wood. The church square also contains a cross from a former cemetery dating from the 16th to the 18th century; it marks the site of the former cemetery. The washhouse on the Taillon is also part of Sainte-Ramée’s notable cultural heritage.
