The scenographically designed forecourt of the Romanesque church in Jonzac commemorates a Merovingian cemetery discovered during construction work in 2009. The former Carmelite monastery houses the “Microfolies” digital museum and is now a cultural centre next to the media library and the Ateliers de la Corderie.

Guided tours of Château de Jonzac include an exterior tour as well as a tour of the council chambers and the wedding rooms, featuring paintings of the lords of Jonzac. They end in the theatre in the style of Napoleon III.

The Baltard market halls next to Jonzac’s Romanesque church continue to house the town’s markets. The municipality of Jonzac restored two 18th-century mills: the Moulin à vent du Cluzelet windmill and the Moulin à eau de Chez Bret watermill.

The Moulin du Cluzelet mill towers above the hillside and offers a remarkable view of Jonzac and the valley; the production methods for traditional white and wholemeal flour are explained there. The Moulin à eau de Chez Bret watermill produces cold-pressed walnut oil; a 30-minute theatrical presentation explains Jonzac’s relationship with the river.

In Jonzac, visitors can watch craftspeople traditionally create their works, buy their creations and, in some cases, try their hand at the crafts themselves in workshops and introductory sessions.

Les Antilles de Jonzac combines a wellness area and a tropical lagoon beneath a 10,000 m² white canopy. The “Rayonnantes de Haute Saintonge N°7 – Jonzac - Montendre” cycle route also begins at Les Antilles de Jonzac.
