The Beffroi de Rue is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its rooms are connected by a spiral staircase with 76 steps.

Culture

The Chapelle du Saint-Esprit has high vaults decorated with hanging keystones. The Chapelle de l’Hospice is a Gothic building from the 16th century dedicated to Saint Nicholas and Saint James of Compostela. Its choir contains a painting dedicated to Saint Augustine, attributed to Philippe de Champaigne. The Eglise Saint Wulphy was rebuilt between 1828 and 1833 in the neoclassical style.

At the Musée des Frères Caudron, several aircraft models on display illustrate the development of aviation from 1909 to 1939. The museum also exhibits personal belongings of aviation pioneers Gaston and René Caudron and is accessible to visitors with motor, visual and intellectual disabilities.

Activities

The “Rue, au Temps des Fortifications” trail is a walking route marked with 10 information panels about the history of the town. The 30-kilometre cycling route “Les frères Caudron” starts and ends in Rue; the start and finish are located at the tourist office.

Tours of the extensive Haras Henson horse-breeding operation are offered in Rue and Saint-Quentin-en-Tourmont.
