Culture and History
Roisel Town Hall was designed by M. Lucet and dates from 1926. Roisel's school complex was designed by Maurice Martineau and dates from 1930. Roisel's function hall and cinema was designed by Henri Bénard and dates from 1927. All three buildings have carried the “20th-Century Heritage” label since 2005.
The parish church of Saint Martin in Roisel was completely destroyed during the war. Work on the parish church was finally approved on 28 May 1930. A bas-relief depicting the charity of Saint Martin is located on the stone lintel above the main portal.
The extension of Roisel communal cemetery is located immediately north of the communal cemetery on the eastern side of the road to Villers-Faucon. It was established in October and November 1918 and completed after the armistice by consolidating British and German graves from the area north, east and south of Roisel. The extension commemorates 514 German foreigners; 190 of them have not been identified.
