The communal marsh covers 32 hectares with ponds, wet hollows, pools, streams, grazed and mown meadows, as well as areas of scrub and woodland. It has recognised ecological significance due to its classification as a ZNIEFF area and the presence of a small Natura 2000 site.

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Glisy can include this in their personal travel plans.

Nature

Two footbridges connect the communal marsh with the towpath along the Somme. The communal marsh is currently used for recreational fishing and is connected to the Vélo Route Vallée de Somme. A sports course accessible to children and adults has also been created in the communal marsh.

Culture

The parish church of Saint-Léger in Glisy was built from 1876 to 1879 according to plans by the architect Victor Delfortrie. It has chapels dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Saint Thérèse.

The “Les arbres en sculpture” project forms an artistic walking trail that connects the northern and southern parts of Glisy, as well as its eastern and western parts. It creates visual pauses at strategically important locations in the village and offers Glisy residents and walkers from outside the village places to stop and visual points of calm.

Longueau and Glisy jointly created the cultural venue “Le Trait d’union”. It supports artistic production, creation, training, outreach and dissemination, and provides artists in the Amiens metropolitan area with a place to work and perform.

Activities

The Aéroclub de Picardie Amiens Métropole offers sightseeing flights, introductory courses and a flight school for aeroplanes, gliders and multiaxis ultralight aircraft. In addition, the Aéroclub de Picardie Amiens Métropole provides flight training for aeroplanes, gliders and three-axis ultralight aircraft.

The Amiens-Glisy airfield enables the Aéroclub de Picardie Amiens Métropole to welcome groups and associations for the aviation activities on offer. At the traditional “20000 lieues dans les airs” event, visitors can take sightseeing flights by aeroplane, glider and ultralight aircraft.
