Water and Leisure

Axo'Plage offers swimming, water slides, and an aqua park. The site also includes 10 hectares of wet meadows classified as an “Espace Naturel Protégé” (Protected Natural Area), which can be explored along an educational trail. This means that leisure facilities and a designated natural area are located within the same park.

Nature

The Prairies de Monampteuil consist of fresh to wet meadows on compact clay soils along the lower slopes of the northern shore of the Ailette Valley. They are home to rare and endangered habitats, as well as rare and endangered plant and animal species.

The Le Lac de Monampteuil hike also opens up views of the wider countryside, offering panoramic views of the Chemin des Dames and Laon's Montagne Couronnée.

Cycle Paths

The Voie verte de l’Ailette features information panels and listening stations about Lake Ailette, its birds, and the Vauclair forest. Motor vehicles are not permitted on this route. The section of the Voie Verte de l'Ailette from Monampteuil to Vauclair passes through a valley between lakes and forests and reaches Vauclair Abbey.

Culture

Monampteuil is home to the Church of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, which was rebuilt between 1926 and 1929 under the direction of the architect Louis Faille. Its interior was redesigned in the Art Deco style; the stained-glass windows, mosaics, and furnishings reflect this influence.
