The ZNIEFF encompasses extensive, diverse forests that provide habitats for a wide variety of fauna and flora, as well as wooded areas on two Tertiary hills in the Noyonnais. It stretches from Noyon to Tergnier and is associated with Beaumont-en-Beine. The ZNIEFF associated with Beaumont-en-Beine features forest paths on oligotrophic sandy soils; these habitats are considered rare in Picardy.
