The church of Nieul-le-Dolent was rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style in the 19th century and preserves elaborately crafted tombstones bearing inscriptions and coats of arms.
The town's history also includes certain historic spring and autumn fairs. More than 500 animals, including cattle, cows, sheep and a few horses, were driven to the town centre for these fairs.
