Between 1614 and 1631, the Jardin du Luxembourg was acquired by Marie de Médicis. The garden contains 102 statues and monuments, including the famous Médicis Fountain. Its design combines French gardens with symmetry and perspective and English gardens that convey the impression of wild nature.

Every year, the Sénat organises two new photo exhibitions on the Grilles du Jardin du Luxembourg. The Orangerie in the Jardin du Luxembourg regularly hosts exhibitions. In summer, the Pavillon Davioud presents various exhibitions by artists, painters, sculptors and visual artists.
When staying in the 6th Arrondissement, the focus is on the desire to rent a holiday apartment.
The Musée du Luxembourg was the first French museum to open to the public in 1750. Its programme focuses on the Renaissance in Europe, the relationship between art and power, and Paris’s role as the capital of the arts. It presents two exhibitions per year, produced by Rmn-Grand Palais.
The Monnaie de Paris workshops have been located at 11 quai de Conti in the centre of Paris since 1775. The Monnaie de Paris museum presents historical collections and the exceptional craftsmanship of its artisans. Around 2017, the Monnaie de Paris opened its museum to the public, offering a sensory experience centred around metal.
History
The Église Saint-Sulpice was built in the 17th century on foundations dating from the 12th century and is one of the largest churches in Paris. It has a gnomon whose embedded brass wire represents the meridian line.
The guided tour of the Chartreuse de Vauvert includes a tasting of Carthusian specialities. The tour of the Chartreuse de Vauvert leads outdoors as far as the Jardin du Luxembourg, where the Chartreuse de Vauvert once stood.
The historic Au plat d'étain boutique has been located in Paris since 1775 and offers handcrafted and hand-painted tin figures as well as decorative tin pieces.
The Marché couvert Saint-Germain takes place beneath covered arcades and offers fruit and vegetables, groceries, fish, fried foods and international products six days a week.
