Tourville-la-Rivière is home to Île Sainte-Catherine, a 30-hectare island with a diverse range of flora and fauna. 183 plant species have been recorded on Île Sainte-Catherine, including 17 rare species. The marsh sow-thistle was also rediscovered there; it had been considered extinct in Normandy.

Activities

The Base de loisirs de Bédanne in Tourville-la-Rivière offers free or supervised activities. Swimming is permitted there exclusively under the supervision of SDIS 76 and only within a designated bathing area. The Circuit Saint-Christophe is an easy 6.2 km circular trail with a stated duration of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Île aux Bœufs can also be explored on foot.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Martin de Tourville-la-Rivière was built between 1120 and 1170. Its construction began in the Romanesque style before the church was rebuilt from 1450 onwards. Three Neanderthal bones approximately 200,000 years old were discovered at Fosse Marmitaine in 2014.

The Ferme du Hamel preserves historic rural features such as a bread oven, a press, an underground cellar, a well and a stable. The Maison Directoire is a Directoire-period building with themed gardens in the centre of Tourville-la-Rivière, near the Église Saint-Martin; it is known as Château de Tourville.
